I just ordered my first real (name brand) pipe, a Missouri Meerschaum "Let Freedom Ring" corncob model pipe; on this the 4th of July 2024. Acquired via TobaccoPipes' website. I also ordered about 28oz of my first pipe tobacco to enjoy in this Missouri Meerschaum pipe: 16oz Cornell & Diehl "Founding Fathers", 2oz Missouri Meerschaum "Party Line", 1.5oz Brigadier Black "Antietam", 1oz Mac Baren HH "Old Dark Fired Ready Rubbed", 3.53oz Orlik "Golden Sliced", 1.5oz Captain Black "Original", and 1oz Sutliff "Serendipity", 1oz x2 of July "mystery" blends. Up until now I've been buying Backwoods "Honey" cigars and cutting them up to smoke in a nameless wood gas station pipe I bought. My town has no Tobacconist. Looking forward to its arrival!

Running all of that machinery loves low gas and diesel prices. High energy prices for an extended period like we've seen during the last two years, is bad news for our producers.

Good stuff, but why you have not engineered a better design so far? That long piece of wood inside the bowl is a big downside that you just throw your customers to deal with that and fix it?

Yeah, well, the prices of the cobs are now getting rediculous. The humble Diplomat 5th Avenue is nudging $20USD. That's $30AUD. Just bloody rediculous IMO. And judging by the way the other 'new' models are being priced, IMO (again) it seems some people there at MM have forgotten their customers and have gotten very greedy. I really used to like dealing with MM, but they're just the same as everyone else now. "SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!"

Missouri Meerschaum is an American icon. I have a couple in my collection along side my briars. I prefer a cob for aromatics and my “nice pipes” are for English blends.

Interesting that the contraction of the business (in unit sold per year at least) seems to have stabalized quite healthily. Yeah? It's nice to see a mindset that's not overly addicted to growth

Hello from New York City! Why did the Naive Americans have ceremonial peace pipes that were long in length and all the modern pipes are short? What difference does the length of the pipe make? Is it just for convenience like storage, transport, cleaning or if does it have a more deeper significance because the Indians associated tobacco with spirituality. Question 2. I've given up on briars and expensive vintage pipes. Missouri Meercham cobs are what I smoke. I do add a short length of rubber electrical shrink tubing to the tips so I can "clench" easier. I love the seasonal semi custom pipes you offer. Thanks for making such a quality product. Prince Albert and I thank you.

I have done the same thing in New Zealand in sand volcanic top soil. Bring up soil that was top soil over 2,000 years ago. This soil was laid down over 3,500 years ago in a volcanic eruption. The pasture and crops that I grow now stay green and growing right through the driest of summers.
